By The Sea out now on All Platforms!
Hello! We are Tsunami Warning. We are based out of Merced, California, but we play all over the Valley (and the bay!).
The band has existed since 2022. Jack and Ziggy spent years building up a dense catalog of songs before Hans moved in across the hall and joined the band in 2024.
Jack, Ziggy, Hans, and Grant, the band's original lead guitarist, played a couple of shows in early 2025 and began work on their first full-length album, High Tides (2025). Before recording on the album was finished, Grant left the band. Hans moved from bass to lead guitar, playing both parts for the album.
The band needed a new bass player to fully realize the sound of High Tides (2025) live, so they imported Keiran, the bass player in Hans' previous band, Breakup Season, from Mt. Shasta, CA. The band played over 20 shows from the time Keiran joined the band in 2025 to the release of their second EP, By The Sea (2026), in May of 2026.
Between releases, Tsunami Warning played dozens of shows all over the Central Valley. The band played many house shows with local acts, organized concerts at the Partisan in Merced and The Queen Bean in Modesto, opened for Green Jelly in an event organized by the Artourage in Fresno, CA, and played with many fantastic bands and artists, Lashfull, Ren and the Stimpies, Velvet Turtles, Crucial Kick, Abel Anuwine, and many others.
By The Sea (2026) was recorded in the same way as High Tides (2025) and was intended as a book-end for that project. Jack and Ziggy once again tracked drums and rhythm guitar live at the UC Merced practice room and sent it to Hans, who tracked his parts at his apartment along with Keiran's bass parts.
By The Sea (2026) was made in collaboration with the electronic ambient artist Jellous, who contributed the EP's synth and keyboard parts.
The band is currently working on singles and writing their second album.
